7 Best Beaches in Mallorca, Spain

December 13, 2021

In October we visited Mallorca for a weekend and had the best time with our friends.

Mallorca is not as small as we may think so it´s important you plan your trip ahead to not miss anything.

Be aware that renting a car or a scooter is necessary unless you want to stay in Palma city or travel around by bus.

Today we will be sharing our favourite locations that we visited during our 3 day vacation around the island. We stayed in the South east region as it has the best beaches.

Cala Del Moro

This was probably our favourite location in the whole island. It is also the most famous one so unless you come during low season, make sure to arrive as earlier as you can. During August you may even need to queue to access to this beach, as its only 35m long.

If you love beaches read our blog about 1 week sailing through Ibiza

This beach is perfect when it´s a bit windy as it´s very well protected. Also don´t forget to bring your snorkel gear as you will find so many fishes here

Cala Santanyi

Another beach worth visiting during your stay in Mallorca. The water is so crystal clear here so will want to jump right into the water as soon as you get here.

Cala LLombards

LLombards is more like a proper beach, perfect for family and big groups. White sand and crystal clear water.

During our visit we didn´t get in as the water was full of jellyfishes, it was such a pity because it´s one of the most beautiful ones with the little houses next to it. But don´t worry, there´s a lovely path on the right side so you can go on a short walk and enjoy the view.Cala Llombards

Cala S´Almonia

Cala Almonia is located right before Cala del Moro so you won´t have any problem finding it.

It´s also very small and only a few groups can get in here, so it´s also important that you arrive as soon as possible.Cala S´almonia Underwater Girl Photography

If you keep walking all the way to the left you will find Cala Del Moro, signs are every where so it´s not difficult to find.

Tip: Don´t forget your snorkel gear to swim around the sinking tree in the beach.

Cala Pi

Along with Cala Del Moro, Cala Pi is also one of our favorites. We love this unique beach so much, on one side you will find a natural river with the mountains and at the other you will find a white sand beach that goes for km deep till it gets to the sea.

At Cala Pi you will also find a lovely lookout where you will be able to see the whole beach. Be careful not to get too close to the edge as there´s a risk of falling downCala Pi MallorcaLookout At Cala Pi Mallorca

Es Trenc Beach

Saving Es Trenc for the end, as it was one of our favorite findings during our trip.

Es Trenc is a natural reserve you can visit. It costs 1-2$ if you are walking, 10$ per car or 20$ per van. You can go for a walk around the reserve or go to its beach and relax.

It´s probably one of the few natural beaches in Mallorca where they haven´t built anything. You will only find two bars in the sand!

Be aware half of the beach is nudist, so don´t be surprised!

If you keep walking, half way of the beach you will find a natural Roman pool that they kept intact and now you can go in to swim!Es Trenc Beach Natural Roman PoolEs Trenc Beach

Where To Stay

If you rent a car, there are so many areas where you can stay. We decided to book an Airbnb in Portocolom as it was a nice area and had a veggie restaurant for us. It also has a lovely big beach perfect to watch sunset with your family.

We chose this area as it was close to all these beaches and calas we mentioned before. As you´ve seen you need a car if you want to visit all of them, or book a hotel/Airbnb in any of these areas.

If you don´t want to rent a car, you can stay in Palma and get a public bus, rent a taxi or stay in Cala Pi as it´s probably the biggest.

Best Time To Visit

We went during the second week of October and temperatures were warm and could still go swimming. Probably not as hot as summer, but we really prefered as Mallorca can get really busy during high season and we wanted to avoid the crowds.

Best months to visit: April-June, September-November
