Manava Resort, Honeymoon Luxury Stay in Moorea, French Polynesia

November 10, 2022

Hello everyone! Welcome to our first blog about our adventures in French Polynesia.

After our second week we stayed for a couple of days at Manava Resort located in the East Coast in Moorea, French Polynesia.

There are only 3 hotels in the island that offer over water bungalow as well as beach bungalow. We were so lucky to be invited to stay at a private pool villa for these days.

Our Bedroom

There are 4 different types of accommodations, overwater bungalows, beach sand bungalows, private pool villas and hotel rooms.

Our bedroom was very spacious, huge bathroom and a little living room where we h

ad lunch a couple of times. Right next to our bed, theres the terrace with our pool, a table where you can enjoy your breakfast and sun beds.

Tip: We would choose the pool villa if you are looking for more privacy, although if it’s your first and only time we would recommend the over water villas as the experience is amazing.

Manava Resort is a 4 star hotel only 10 minutes from the ferry and the airport. It is also located right next to the biggest village in the island where you can find restaurants and supermarkets.

Be aware, Moorea is not a big island and you won’t find big shops or big cities.

As you enter the hotel to check in we were welcome by their staff with a beautiful shell necklaces.

The hotel is quite big, you will find 2 different restaurants. Where they offer different vegan options to accommodate your needs, as French Polynesia is not a vegan friendly hotel, we were happy to find some here.

Also, twice a week they offer a buffet where you can enjoy watching their traditional dance and get to know the dancers.Hotel In Moorea, ManavaDsc04696.Jpg

Pool & Beach

We arrived a couple of hours before our check in time so we went to the pool for a swim.

We loved their infinity pool looking directly to the overwater bungalows!

Probably our favorite was the two little beaches you can find on both sides, the water was so clear and clean. If you are lucky you will even find reef sharks and lots of fishes. As Manava has its own coral reef from their coral initiative to help and preserve it.

Tip: If you are staying in a sand beach bungalow, you will be literally less than 2 meters from your own beach with no one around you.Dsc04609.JpgDsc04677.JpgDsc04630.Jpg

Breakfast

We really enjoyed breakfast! We were surprised by how many vegan options they had at the resort and they were very friendly helping us with everything we needed.

Some of the vegan options we had at the breakfast buffet were; All kind of fruits, bread, peanut butter, homemade banana and strawberry jam, rice with veggies, roasted potatoes, oats, veggie milk, juices and coconut water.Img_6383.JpgImg_6386.Jpg

Tip: Make sure to have breakfast outside to enjoy the amazing views of the beach

Hotel activities

Manava offers complimentary kayaks and paddle boards to every guests, as well as snorkel gear to discover their reef.

We also joined their complimentary flower crown workshop that we were dreaming to do for so long!

They taught us how to make a flower crown from scratch in their traditional way, which we loved and had so much fun getting to know her and the other guests that joined us at the workshop.

Other activities that you can find at the resort is the coral restoration workshop and if what you are looking for after a long day in the beach is to relax, make sure to head to their Spa for a massage.Dsc04718.JpgDsc04724.JpgDsc04720.JpgLet us know if you would like to know more about this amazing placeDsc04699.JpgDsc04697.JpgImg_6395.JpgDsc04861.Jpg
